FET Update

Our Frozen Embryo Transfer is still scheduled for April 6th, which is a week from Tuesday! We are excited and of course nervous. And I am a poo poo platter of hormones.

The current regiment includes Viagra! Sorry, hate to report that the side effect is head aches and nausea; why do guys get to have all the fun!? Wink. Wink. Along with Estrogen, Lupron and Dexamethasone. I am feeling fairly good and know it is for a great cause.

There have been lots of moments lately when I have wanted so badly to know and control the result outcome of this process. This has been a great time that the Lord has reminded me that He alone knows and gives His very best for me. I know no matter the outcome I will be given God's best. We are taking each day at a time, and focusing on the miracle we already have! Sweet Bits!

We are excited to celebrate Easter in Eustace with my family! I hope each of you have a wonderful holiday. Rejoice - He has risen!

Daddy Day!

The year of papa

We have been visiting my parents this week and Cib is in love with his
Papa. He talks about him constantly at home and as soon as he wakes up
each morning when we are here, Cib says, "Papa?" into the monitor.
Papa chases him endlessly, plays cars and trucks with him and he reads
to him. My dad is a wonderful, highly adored Papa.

Rodeo Houston

Thanks so Cap'n Jim we got 'back stage' passes to the Rodeo this year! Austin gave us a special treat by spending the afternoon with us during the week. Cib loved every minute!

Cib just kept saying, "oouuu horsey!"

Cib's favorite part of the day was the petting zoo!

He would just laugh when they ate hay out of his hands - so cute!

Granny Nanny and the Lama.

My sweet boy. He loved the deer. He would say, "Deers."

He was a little too affectionate for my taste with this particular goat.

Something Cib LOVES (and is very vocal about these days) is Fries.

Well this was a little adventure. Austin thought Cib would like riding these little cars that go around in a circle....good idea....

However, when the ride began, there was lots of bouncing and swinging and general nausea.
But as soon as it stopped...Cib said, "More Momma?"
No Thanks love...

Cib met a giant rabbit that he became fast friends with.

He especially enjoyed the truck and tractor exhibit.

He climbed up into the SUV and said GO!

Thanks Granny Nanny and Cap'n Jim for a great day at the rodeo!

Oh. My. Gosh. !

Wow! We have had a pretty rough couple days. Austin is working like crazy. Yesterday he worked for almost 19 hours! All three of us are sick, some stupid cold...but fairly miserable. AND to top it all off, two out of our three toilets backed up this morning into our tubs, sinks, etc. So we are quiet literally up a sh*t creek! I am not writing to merely complain, but to ask for your prayers. We are feeling a little run down and, at the risk of sounding a little corny, like we are under spiritual attack.

Please pray that God blesses and multiplies our time. Gives us a nice long stretch of good health. (Especially poor Cibbers, who literally is sick about every three weeks) And blesses us with peace in a time when lots of moving parts are up in the air, inlcuding our upcoming Frozen Embryo Transfer on April 6th.

Thanks friends and prayer warriors for listening!

Feb 2010

Sorry I have neglecting you all! Cibbers keeps me ON MY TOES! This past month has been a blast so far! Love is in the air I tell you! Austin and I had a much needed weekend escape to the Texas Hill Country over Valentine's Day weekend. Thanks Granny Nanny for watching Bits!

We visited about 5 wineries - it was a gorgeous day and we had a blast!

Listening to some rock-a-billy music in Fredsricksburg!

I have been cooking up a store lately. Our new Costco membership isnt helping this nasty little habit either. Here are some of our latest favorites.

This was a labor of love. These cookies took me a total of 9 hours to make! I made 8 cookie bouquets for grandparents and teachers and some for the kids in Cib's class. Here is the blog I used for help.

Heirloom Tomatoes with Smoked Mozzarella and Fresh Basil

Grilled Lamb Lollipops - Thanks Jason for this great recipe!

Cib update: He is talking in sentences! SO fun! This morning he told Austin, "Daddy Dora on!"
And he told me while I was vacuuming, "Momma, Daddy work."
And my favorite new game is name that person. I say, "Cib what's my name?" Cib says, "Mama!" Then we go around the table asking him to name whoever is at dinner. When we get to him, I point and ask, What's your name? Cib replies, "BABY!"
He is full of funny things to say and lots of and lots and lots of energy.
In other baby news: We have started up pre-IVF hormones again starting with Birth Control. Yeah! We should have our transfer in about 5 weeks. Late March, Early April. More on this later.

A room full of toys...

And he would rather read a book. So his fathers son.

Toy Organizer, what toy organizer!

I thought this would help him see his toys and therefore play with
them more... Alas, he does play more after he dumps everything out. Ugh.

A trip to Costco

Resulted in expensive beer and tasty cedar plank grilled Salmon with
for-mentioned Quinoa pilaf. Yum-o!

Cha cha cha Changes!

Cib is loving his slide from Nana & Papa! He loves me to reach up and pull him down. He is so fearless! I can almost hear the sweet giggles when I look at these pictures.

Our sweet boy is growing up into a (sometimes difficult) toddler, but oh so cute!
We are trying to get Cib is eat more protein. And since he really doesnt like meat, well I have had to get creative.

One of the new things we are trying to get Cib to eat is Eggs. We were successful with this great recipe from cooking light. Mine, ahem, doesnt look exactly like the recipe picture.

This delicious whole grain is packed with great protein and nutrients. He loved it for dinner tonight! I used it to make a pilaf with mushrooms, carrots and onions. Tastes like a more nutty version of couscous. Yum!

18 month stats

Well we had our 18 month check up yesterday! Cib continues to grow like a little weed. Weighing in at 32 pounds (100%) and 36 1/2 inches tall aka just over 3 feet (100%) he is a baby giant!

Cib got his second hair cut today. And his first lolli pop yesterday - which he LOVED!

He is talking up a storm!
Some of his new words:
Hop ee - Help Me
Bird - Big Bird or just a bird
Up Up! - Climbing stairs
Slide
Dip - the boy is a product of his upbringing and loves dip of any sort!
Mango - not sure, he just broke it out a couple days ago.
Five Five - High Five
Osc-Oscar the Grouch
Dora - Dora the Explorer (Yes, my child loves tv, dont judge)
Cup Cup - His sippy cup
Woof Woof - Dog
Whoo Whoo - Train
Hug - for hugs given or received
And my favorite - MOMMA! Which he says anytime he sees me, wants me, etc.

I hope everyone is having a good new year and enjoying all this gorgeous weather! We are spending most our days at the park. Cib insists on climbing to the tallest big kid slide and going down backwards on his belly....Whheeeee! He is 100% boy!

Now THAT is a nap!

We are in the process of getting over croup, again and finally taking
away the 'pop'. ( paci )

After I snipped the end of the pop off, the screaming began. And
didn't really stop. Finally he started screaming 'hop ee momma' which
is help me. So I gave in and rocked him to sleep, now I am prisoner to
my sleeping angel. Sweet dreams Bits.
