Cib's BIG Day

Today was a BIG day!
Cib's first day of PreK!!!

He was SO excited!

He is in the Jungle Room at school and thinks that is super cool!

I hate that this picture of Cib has a shadow on it but it doesn't dampen his excited smile!

Emmie Update: We are still in the middle of the War of the Jaundice!
Emmie has breast milk jaundice which can linger for up to 3 months! But Friday is our last day of light therapy and hopefully our final check of her blood. Poor Girl. But she has been a real trooper! She is now doing 3 to 4 hours between feedings which is a major improvement to every one's well being. :) We are still working to get to know Ms. Em (as I call her) but one thing is for sure - her big brother loves her to pieces and is already super protective of her!

Update

Thank you guys for all the calls and texts to check on Emmie! She is doing great! Her bilirubin was down to 16 yesterday and she has been a trooper staying in her light pack to eat and sleep! Light therapy ends tomorrow - we will all be SO glad to see that thing go!

My family

We are flying solo for the first time this week. We've given Granny a much deserved weekend off.

Prayers for Emmie please

Despite the light therapy Emmies Bilirubin is going up again it was 18.9 this morning. ( it took them 15 min and five sticks to get the blood) we have to go again tomorrow for a check and if it isn't improved she has to be admitted to the hospital.

Please pray that there is nothing unknown going on, like infection. That her numbers will come down over night and the blood draw tomorrow will be quick and as painless as possible for Em.

And if there is an outside factor that the doctors will see it and treat it. And that none of this will have an effect on her long term health.

Right now she (& her daddy) are sleeping peacefully after a hard morning at the doctors office.

Baby Alien

Well, yesterday was slightly stressful around here. With two blood draws in the last 14 hours for Emmie to check her bilirubin (levels which cause jaundice) it was decided she needed home light therapy. Which means baby girl has to wear own mini space ship around for 2 to 3 days. Hoping this takes care of it and looking forward to dressing her up again soon!
