memorial day!

Heading home?

Well we oficially aren't sure where home is anymore. We are driving
back to Houston and listening to Cib "talk" at the top of his lungs-
yes he should be asleep. This is what I saw staring back at me when I
looked into the back seat to make sure he was asleep. Too cute!

Happy mothers day

Today was my first mothers day with Cib here. Austin brought in
coffee, cards and a smiling baby to greet me today. A perfect start!
The boys took me to brunch- yum! Then I got to walk around target for
an hour by myself!! It was a good day. We are in the car- granny
nanny's suburban actually- headed to Dallas. We going to pack up our
home and get it ready for it's new owners. Even though I am so excited
it sold, I am very sad to leave it. I know our new home will be filled
with love and good memories too.

After cib mastered crawling a couple days ago we have invested in
'baby jail'. Granny Nanny's knick knacks have become far too much of a
temptation.

Cibbers and Bits Update

I can't believe my sweet baby will be 9 months old tomorrow! Yesterday we went to see the doctor for a little cold and she went ahead and did Cib's 9 month stats. He is now weighing in at almost 27 pounds and 32 1/4 inches long - both in the 100% for his age. I have a feeling I am in for a big growing boy for a while to come!

Cib is babbling mama and dada. He is pulling up on things, crawling - only backwards and still has no teeth. He magically moves from one side of the room to the other in a flash. I am getting ready to set up a hidden camera to discover his mode of transportation. - wink

We have had a great couple months in our transition to Houston. We are still residing with Austin's parents while we wait for our Dallas home to sell. They have been such a huge help and so gracious to have us (and all our baby gear) descend upon them.

We spent a really great and relaxing weekend in Bandera for Easter. We had lots of good food and plenty of fresh hill country air.

I wanted to update everyone on my mom. While she is still struggling daily with pain and the new challenges presented by old tasks, the Lord has been gracious in helping her to have a brighter outlook mentally. It can be frustrating (I would assume) for her that people assume she is home and just paralyzed. Unfortunately it takes your brain some time to rewire pain sensors. Therefore she is in constant pain in her legs and behind. My dad is working tirelessly to find a pain management specialist to help find my mom some relief.
On Thursday she is turning the big 5-0! We are praying daily that every day gets easier and better than the one before.

Happy Spring!

Well I am not sure you could say we are settled here in Houston just yet but we are getting there. We have had some really great time to spend with friends and family since we came. We have been here a month now - time is flying! I have attached some recent photos of sweet Cib. He is really into hats right now. Everyday he is doing something new and different. He is such a joy!

Cib is going to have a cousin come fall - Austin's sister Lindsey is expecting. We are really excited! They are calling the baby blueberry until the sex is determined. It made me think of us calling Cib, ham bone until we knew if he was a boy or a girl. At this rate, by the time the Fatheree's are done having kids we could have a really tasty meal! :)

We were also greeted this morning with Cib standing in his crib! He
has started pulling up, and away we go!

Cib's First Word

Well it is official! Cib has spoken! I am (selfishly some what sad) happy to say he is in the floor as I type babbling dadadadadada. Daddy it is! I know Austin is thrilled, although Cib refuses to say it in front of him. Keep up the good work Bits!

His other new party trick - whistling. I am not sure how he does it but he can whistle and thinks it is super funny to do so.

Every day with Cib just keeps getting better!

Oh My!

Well Cib is officially mobile! He has chosen rolling as his primary mode of transportation.
Yesterday I turned my back for maybe three minutes to wash a bottle. When I returned to Cib he had gone from sitting up to rolling around but something was different. I noticed he was closing inspecting and about to lick his hands. But was he holding?! Oh yes, it was poop! He managed to get poop out of his diaper, rub it ALL over his body and in his hair and on the carpet in three minutes!! THREE MINUTES!
So we proceed straight to the shower, as this is no match for a diaper wipe. I get him undressed and now we are both covered in poop. I set him down to turn on the water and what does he do? He pees on the carpet! Did I mention we are staying at my mother in laws?! Sorry Granny Nanny! Whew! This was an exciting end to an exciting week.
This week we moved to Houston, almost sold our Dallas house a couple times, found a couple Houston houses we loved, saw Slumdog Millionaire (very good!) and yes, had the major poop incident of 2009. (Or at least I hope that was it)

Sorry guys! It has been WAY too long since my last post. So much has happened. My sweet Cib is growing like a weed! He is rolling every where. No teeth or words as of yet though.

Austin was laid off from his job here in Dallas on Feb 11th. We have been blessed by a new job for Austin in Houston. He started this past Thursday. We are in the process of readying our house to go on the market here in Dallas. We will be living with the Fatheree's in Houston in the mean time.

Another Great Weekend

Lately things have been going (consistently) well! It's the consistency I am so excited about. I had a really great couple of conversations with my mom - just talking about normal mother/daughter stuff, we celebrated my dad's 51st birthday, today a great friend of mine took home her beautiful daughter - Ella and I had another great weekend with my two boys. 

Friday Austin planned a family date. (HUGE brownie points) We went to Central Market's Chocolate Festival and ate plenty of tasty treats. Then we grabbed a pizza. It was a great end to our week. Saturday Cib went to his first birthday party! We had a good time celebrating our sweet friend Nicholas's first birthday. And today Austin and I took Cib for a spin in the new jogging stroller after brunch with friends...um, total slackers and skipped church. I know this all sounds like normal every day stuff....but it was really great to just do normal every day stuff. What a blessing! 

Update on my mom: She is attending outpatient rehab three day a week. I am so proud of her! She is making such strides. The upbeat tone has returned to her voice when she answers the phone. It warms my heart. Despite the constant pain, that we pray will one day subside, she is doing wonderfully well. She is excited to take driver's ed for her new retro fitted van and start getting on the road -- so watch out!

Family Date

Austin planned a fun family date for the three of this past Saturday. Thank you Austin! We went to the Heard Nature Park in McKinney TX and saw the dinosaurs and animals of the world exhibits. Cib was totally mesmerized! We ended with lunch/dinner at Chuy's - Yum!

Sweet Memories

Well we are off to a running start with the new year! Things here are good and returning to a new sense of normal. My family is doing well and we are all looking very forward to the celebration of Cib's Baptism coming up. Here are some photos we have taken over the last month or so. Wow! Time flies!
